Update post

Okay so it looks like I've figured out more of what I want to do with this blog. As far as posting schedules, I want to post on Tuesday and Friday, though I might occasionally have additional musings that I deem worthy of posting throughout the week.

 As far as content, I don't think I've found my niche yet. I like spoken words and slam poetry, but I think I like listening to them more than writing them. I like info articles or Bible-y things, although they definitely take more time and research. I want to do more stories, but as I mentioned in my first post brevity is kinda hard and I'm not very good at flash fiction. 

 I've already skipped a post or two on my "schedule" but that's because I've been reading and learning about writing and things of that nature. I enrolled in Kingdom Pen's online basics writing course and that's helped me understand more about techniques and stuff. I really need to stop saying "and stuff", but eh oh well. 

 Also SCHOOL STARTS IN LIKE EIGHT DAYS I'M KINDA FREAKING OUT HERE so ya know, that's wonderful. Hopefully, I can take another english lit class or a class that makes me write a lot. I'd much rather write papers than do projects. Needless to say, (so of course Ima say it) I don't know if I'll have a lot of time to write while I'm in school but I'm certainly going to try my hardest.

 I think this is the end of this post, which, established by it's title, was purely an update post. I would like to say thanks to every one who reads this, it really means a lot. And to those 8 people who I can count on to always read every post, besides my mom I don't know who you are (google only shows how many people read this, not who), but thanks for sticking with me.

             Saltwater burned into my eyes and mouth, soaking my clothes and the bitter air churned my blood into ice. I gripped the side of the ship in a useless effort to remain steady as I observed my fellow crewmates. Our captain was tied behind the wheel, every muscle in his body straining to keep us afloat as my crewmates struggled to maintain both the rigging and their footing. The crack of lightning was almost comforting when compared with the thrashing waves, but then it was replaced with the vile laugh of the monster who’d put us here. The Fishing Boat Trials

I’d already lost two of my passengers and my last one had succumbed to the ending he believed wad the inevitable. Sharks gnashed their serrated teeth across my hull and breached into the air, reaching for my lone passenger’s limbs. It was almost impossible for me to stay afloat. The Great Storm claimed my mast, leaving the searing pain coursing through my body as the only reminder of the life i had once lived. I’m only a fishing boat but I’ve seen some things. I’ve seen burly men brought to their knees  praying to foreign gods for protection from the storms and monsters of the deep. I’ve seen nets overflowing with fish, so full that even I couldn’t carry the load.
