             Saltwater burned into my eyes and mouth, soaking my clothes and the bitter air churned my blood into ice. I gripped the side of the ship in a useless effort to remain steady as I observed my fellow crewmates. Our captain was tied behind the wheel, every muscle in his body straining to keep us afloat as my crewmates struggled to maintain both the rigging and their footing. Birthday Madness

Okay so for those of you who don't know, this past week has been quite insane.  On Tuesday, August 29th, my little sister (or as she likes to be called, "younger" sister. Same difference) was taken to the ER by my mom and later taken to Atlanta Children's via ambulance for breathing issues.  The next day was my birthday.  What surprised me was that while people were taking care of my sister and worried about her, I wasn't left in the dark. Now, bdays don't really mean that much to me. I get one every year and quite frankly I just enjoy them 'cause they're an excuse to see friends and eat lots and lots of junk food. Plus, I had planned a bday party that Saturday, so I wasn't missing anything.  But, my church totally remembered both me and my sister.
